Embarking on a journey through Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey offers travelers an unforgettable blend of history, culture, and adventure. From Egypt’s majestic pyramids to Jordan’s serene Dead Sea and Turkey’s lively bazaars and ancient ruins, each destination captivates with stunning landscapes, rich traditions, and warm, welcoming hospitality.
Salaam Alaikum! Welcome to Egypt.
A buzzing metropolis, home to at least 19 million people, Cairo gives you a great feel for Egyptian streetlife. It’s busy – almost frantic – and among the hustle and bustle, it’s an exciting blend of old world and new. Arabs call this city Umm al-Dunya (the mother of the world). There are many beautiful mosques to visit, like the Mohammed Ali Mosque in the Citadel. Or head to the oldest part of Cairo, the Babylon Fortress, to see ancient ruins. For stunning panoramic views of the capital, go up the 187-metre-high Cairo Tower.
Try some street food – lamb shawarma, anyone? – or get a taste of Egyptian street life by visiting a cafe. Sit in an ahwa and sip traditional mint tea. The shisha pipe can be found in many ahwas and restaurants across Cairo.
Arrival airport transfers are included as part of your package. You will be met upon arrival at the airport by a representative who will escort you through immigration, and transferred to your hotel.
If Inspiring Vacations has not provided your international airfares, please ensure you provide your flight details via your Traveller Hub portal no later than 90 days prior to travel so that your transfers can be confirmed.
Please note: if you are arriving early and have made your own arrangements prior to your tour commencing, airport transfers will not be included. However, if you are purchasing pre-nights accommodation as part of your Inspiring Vacations package, airport transfers will still be provided to the starting hotel.
This morning, meet your guide and head out to see some of the world’s most iconic sights – the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx. Explore these structures that have stood tall for some 4,500 years and learn about the ancient history of the monuments. The oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact, the pyramids are a sight to behold.
Afterwards, we visit the GEM - the Grand Egyptian Museum. The Grand Egyptian Museum, located near the Giza Pyramids, is a state-of-the-art cultural complex housing the world’s largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the complete treasures of Tutankhamun.
Today, enjoy a free day at leisure.
Later this afternoon you'll be transferred to the airport to board your included flight to Luxor.
Special Information
Your internal flight for this day is arranged by our local partner. Specific flight details will be provided by your Tour Leader upon arrival and cannot be provided in advance. Please note that these group flights cannot be upgraded, amended, or checked in online. Your Tour Leader will manage the check-in process for the group.
Join a local guide to get in touch with Cairo's Islamic heart. From backstreet bazaars to minaret-topped mosques, and neighbourhood coffee houses, these are the places that make Egypt's sprawling capital what it is. We will visit Sultan Hassan mosque and Madrasa, the finest piece of early Mamluk architecture in Cairo. It was built between 1356 and 1363 by Sultan Hassan then we will enjoy a walk in Moez street starting form Bab el Fetouh and we will end our Adventure in Khan El Khalili Bazaar. A labyrinth of narrow streets and passageways, Khan el-Khalili is one of the world’s largest bazaars and offers a truly authentic local Cairo experience.
Please note: the start and duration times outlined are subject to change based on factors beyond our control such as traffic and weather conditions. Your Tour Guide will confirm operation times with you whilst on-tour and can answer any further questions you may have.
Starts: 8:30am
End: 3:30pm
Inclusions: private transportation, private guide
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel then we'll explore the magnificent Karnak Temple, which is perhaps the most impressive of all the ancient pharaohs' monumental works. One of the world's most celebrated temple complexes, Karnak was built over some 200 years and was once known as the 'Chosen of Places'. Your guided tour of this vast temple of impressive pylons, obelisks and chapels will reveal its finest sections, such as the Avenue of Sphinxes and the Great Temple of Amun.
Then it’s time to embark on your luxury Nile cruise that will be home for the next 4 nights. You’ll cruise between Luxor and Aswan on this elegant ship, with all the comforts you would expect from a 5-star floating hotel.
Please note that since the sailing distance between Luxor and Aswan is approximately 200kms, that it is typical for all cruises operated along the Nile to be docked for majority of the time to conduct sightseeing, with the sailing to occur of an evening. The vessel will be docked either in Luxor or Aswan. Depending on the time of year and number of vessels operating at the same time, you will also find that all vessels are docked beside one another, which is beyond our control.
To ensure that our customers have appropriate expectations prior to their journey, it is important not to compare this experience to that of a European River Cruise, which tend to cover a greater distance and on larger vessels. Instead, you will experience a Deluxe stay on-board your vessel, offering a great chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the banks of the Nile while you sit back and relax. Your cruise schedule will be provided once on-board.
Situated on the East Bank of the Nile River, in the city of Luxor, Luxor Temple was built approximately 1400 BC. The site is over 73 sq km and exhibits obelisks, giant statues, an Avenue of Sphinx statues, the Grand colonnade and the Barque Shrine of Theban Triad. Viewing is as majestic at night as it is during the day.
Please note: the start and duration times outlined are subject to change based on factors beyond our control such as traffic and weather conditions. Your Tour Guide will confirm operation times with you whilst on-tour and can answer any further questions you may have.
Start: 4:00pm
End: 6:00pm
Inclusions: return transfers to temple, entrance into Luxor Temple
Today we'll discover some of the many wonders of ancient Thebes. Our first stop is the Colossi of Memnon – two 17-metre-high statues on Luxor's west bank. Carved from granite blocks, they represent the Pharaoh Amenhotep III and were once part of an impressive colonnade.
Continue on to the spectacular royal burial site of the Valley of the Kings. Buried under the arid hills here are the tombs of more than 60 pharaohs, many richly decorated with reliefs and paintings. Explore this sprawling and spectacular place with your guide, where the pharaohs of the New Kingdom (16th to 11th century BCE) were secretly interred for all eternity, and where archaeological discoveries are still being made. Your guide will explain the history of and legends surrounding these remarkable people, their funerary rites, and the significance of the many paintings and hieroglyphics, still well-preserved in the deepest tombs.
After paying a visit to three of the most interesting royal tombs we'll continue to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a stunning colonnaded building of sharp lines that contrasts beautifully against the craggy high cliffs behind it, creating a spectacular natural amphitheatre. One of Egypt’s greatest queens, this temple was built to prove her importance among the ancestors.
Enjoy lunch upon your return to the boat. There is time to relax on deck, or in your cabin, before we set sail for Edfu. Generally the journey from Luxor to Edfu takes place between 1pm an 11 pm, though the departure time may vary, depending on river traffic. En route to Edfu we pass through the Esna Lock and head upstream.
Special Information
Please note: Entry to the Tomb of King Tutankhamun is not included in today’s scheduled activities. Tickets cost approximately USD $20 and can be purchased on-site with assistance from your trip leader. Be aware that there may be long queues, so plan accordingly to allow enough time for your visit.
Today we will moor near Edfu – home to ancient settlements and temples, as well as a bustling town centre and a bazaar.
Later we'll return to the boat where we’ll continue travelling upriver, with plenty of free time for relaxing on the sundeck and taking in the surrounding sights – from fishermen casting nets and farmers working their land to the desert hills that frame the lush riverbanks.
This afternoon we'll arrive at Kom Ombo Temple. Set dramatically on the bank of the Nile, 47 kilometres north of Aswan and 168 kilometres south of Luxor, the soaring, chunky columns of the double temple are a magnificent sight to behold as you arrive from the river.
Dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris, the temple's finely carved reliefs give a sense of this area's prominence as capital over the surrounding region during the Ptolemaic era. Today, Kom Ombo may be a sleepy agricultural backwater surrounded by sugar cane fields, but its prime position along the Nile meant it was once one of Upper Egypt's most important centres. Wander through the temple's colonnades, gazing up at scenes of kingly propaganda, and you'll get a sense of this rich history for yourself.
Return to the cruise boat where you’ll continue travelling upriver towards Aswan.
Please note: the only mode of transport available to visit the Temple of Edfu is by locally managed horses and carriages. As a business that seeks to promote responsible travel, animal welfare is extremely important to us at Inspiring Vacations, and unfortunately, some operators of the horse and carriages have been found to be in breach of our animal welfare guidelines. It is for this reason we do not include the visit the Edfu Temple. While we recommend that you do not use the horse and carriage to visit the Temple, the decision is ultimately up to you and your guide can help arrange transport and ensure the best horses are used.
Today you will awake before sunrise for an early morning start. Sit back and relax as you drive to the ancient Abu Simbel temples, near the southern Egyptian border. You will have an early arrival into Abu Simbel to view one of the most incredible sights you will see. The two enormous sandstone structures were built in the 1200s BCE by Ramses II to serve as lasting monuments to himself and his favourite wife Nefertari. The larger temple, dedicated to three major Egyptian deities, features four large statues of Ramses II on its façade, while the smaller temple is dedicated to the goddess of love, Hathor, with statues designed to embody Nefertari.
Set on the banks of the artificial Lake Nasser, the structures were once in danger of being flooded with the construction of the Aswan High Dam but were saved via an extensive project to cut the temples into pieces and move them to higher ground, where they are seen today.
On our return to Aswan the rest of the day is free for you to make your own discoveries.
This afternoon, we'll enjoy a sailboat ride around the Nile River islands in a traditional felucca (a small, traditional Egyptian sailboat).
Sunsets in Aswan are truly magical and there is no better way to experience them than on a traditional felucca.
Meeting at the reception, make the short walk to the dock where you will embark the felucca and cruise for approximately 2 hours on the Nile River. Sail around the enchanting islands of Aswan. As the sun begins its descent, the sky will transform into a canvas of mesmerising hues, painting the Nile River in shades of gold, orange and crimson. Reax and sock in the breathtaking scenery while enjoying refreshing drinks on board.
Start: 4:00pm
End: 6:30pm
Inclusions: drinks onboard the felucca
Philae Temple is situated on an island just south of Aswan. It was built by the last dynasty of ancient Egypt, the Ptolemaic. The temple is dedicated to Isis - the goddess of healing, magic and birth, her husband Osiris and their son Horus.
Take a 20-minute drive from Aswan to the dock, where you will embark on a 20-minute boat ride to Agilkia Island, where the Philae Temple complex is located. You will have approximately 2 hours exploring the island and temple before returning to Aswan by boat and road vehicle.
Start: pending Cairo to Aswan flight
Duration: 3 hours
Inclusions: return transportation (boat and road vehicle) from Aswan to Agilkia Island, entrance into Philae Temple complex
Today we will leave Aswan and make the short flight back to Cairo. On our return to Cairo enjoy your free time relaxing or doing some last-minute sightseeing.

Today, say goodbye to your Egyptian tour leader and get ready for the next leg of your journey as you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Amman, Jordan. Welcome to Jordan, cosmopolitan and contemporary, yet steeped in biblical history. On arrival at Amman's Queen Alia International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. You will meet your Jordanian tour leader today.
Special Information
You will need a visa to visit Jordan. If you are visiting for tourism, you can get a single-entry visa valid for one month on arrival. For some passport holders, this will be included in the package. Other restricted nationalities cannot obtain an entry visa upon arrival and cannot be added to the manifest for the visa waiver; they need to have their visas prior to arrival to Jordan. Please see link HERE to view the inclusion and exclusion list.
After breakfast enjoy a tour of this capital city. Cosmopolitan and contemporary, yet steeped in ancient biblical history, Amman is a bit of a chameleon. Most of the city's historical sites are located downtown. Here we'll visit the Citadel, with remains from the Roman to the early Islamic period; the Jordan Archaeological Museum, which houses the oldest Neolithic statues dating from 8000 to 5000 NC, as well as other valuable artifacts; the souq, where we'll get an idea of everyday life; as well as the beautifully restored 2nd-century Roman Theatre.
Next we'll take a short drive (approximately one-hour) north to Jerash. Once one of the grandest ancient Roman cities in the world, Jerash now boasts some of the best Greco-Roman ruins around. Admire this site's striking collection of crumbling archways, theatres, baths, public buildings and colonnaded streets. Grand columns encircle the city's centrepiece, the Oval Plaza, a wonderfully atmospheric place to linger after exploring this ruined city's lasting riches.
Today marks the beginning of our journey towards the fabled site of Petra. En route we'll visit Madaba, an ancient market town that's home to a number of fine Byzantine mosaics, the most outstanding of which lies within Saint George's Greek Orthodox Church. Here, a map of the Holy Land once carpeted the whole floor, said to contain more than two million pieces. Crafted around 560 CE, a large swathe of this mosaic map can still be viewed, providing the oldest map of Palestine in existence.
Next we'll continue to the ancient village at Dana, on the edge of the Dana Biosphere Reserve, where local artisans sell silver jewellery.
Later, we'll drive along the King's Highway, up to Shobak Castle, sometimes known as Montreal. Perched at the top of a hill in the desert, this ancient Crusader castle was originally built to protect the eastern flank of the Latin Kingdom and its trade routes to the sea before it fell to Muslim sultan Saladin in 1189. Stroll the site and discover a small chapel, original gatehouse, and find out where a long, dark secret passage leads.
Get ready for Petra! A firm fixture on most bucket lists for good reason – the jewel of Jordan is an arresting sight. The so-called Rose City boasts an impressive series of tombs, caves and temples hidden behind ornate façades carved directly into the rock. No one knows the exact date of this desert kingdom's creation, but the lost city of the Nabateans is believed to date as far back as the 2nd century CE. The city has lain empty and unknown for centuries, only rediscovered in 1812 by a Swiss explorer.
You'll feel just like Indiana Jones, as you meander through the narrow canyon known as the Siq; at times the path measures only a few metres wide, with walls soaring up to 180 metres on either side of you. It's easy to imagine the armies and merchants who made their way here many years ago, and the sense of awe they too must have felt upon reaching this ancient rock-hewn kingdom, surrounded by such a stark landscape. The Siq is the main entranceway to The Treasury – perhaps Petra's most iconic sight, and one of its most elaborate temples.
Petra's greatest surprise, however, is its size. With our guide we'll explore the old Roman road, the amphitheatre and several tombs. We'll also climb up to the beautiful façade of the Monastery, from where you will have a magnificent view of the entire site.
Exploring this truly extraordinary destination is sure to be a highlight of your trip.
We continue to Wadi Rum and browse around the excellent and informative visitor's centre. We'll visit several of Wadi Rum's distinctive rock formations and soak in the vast silence, towering sandstone mountains and spectacular desert landscapes of this surreal 'Valley of the Moon', where, the wind-sculpted rock formations change in hue throughout the day.
We'll also meet with local Bedouins, who live in scattered camps throughout the area, and ride camels to our traditional Bedouin tent, situated deep within the valley. We'll enjoy an evening with them at one of their camps, savouring the hospitality of these nomadic peoples and the uninterrupted desert panoramas.
Wadi Rum is probably best known for its connection with the enigmatic British army officer TE Lawrence, who was based here during the Great Arab Revolt of 1917-18. Much of David Lean's movie on his exploits, Lawrence of Arabia, was actually filmed in this very region.
Please note - While we are sure that this experience will inspire you, please be aware that your stay will differ from that of a traditional hotel. There are no hotels in or near Wadi Rum: the only places to sleep are the numerous bedouin-run camps dotted around the desert. The camps that we use are quoted as being 'luxury' because their locations differ from other styles of camps and your tent will have its own ensuite. Even at the best and more 'luxurious' camps, bathroom facilities within the tents are somewhat rudimentary and the bedding can also be quite basic, however still offering you a comfortable nights' accommodation. All of your meals are included and will be served in a common social area. While we may not make it sound glamorous, it will be a unique and memorable experience.
After waking up in the unique environment of the luxury camp this morning, we'll enjoy a walk around the area before scaling one of the large dunes to enjoy sensational views of the surrounding area; keen photographers will be delighted. We'll then ride camels back across the Wadi Rum desert.
Later, we'll drive for approximately an hour and a half to reach a radically different landscape – the Dead Sea. We'll spend the afternoon on the shores of this famous body of water, named for the dearth of life in its waters. The saline water has a high density that keeps bathers buoyant and makes getting underneath the surface very difficult. Floating on the surface without any sort of lilo makes for a once in a lifetime experience. Afterwards we'll return to Amman for the evening.
Today, we say goodbye to Jordan, and get ready for the next leg of your journey as you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Istanbul, Turkey. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and the remainder of the day is yours, free to explore Istanbul.
Tonight you will have a welcome meeting in your hotel reception at approximately 7pm.
Special Information
Your travel time today will be approximately 3 hours.

As we wander through the remnants of this once-mighty city, we relive the epic story of the Spartan Queen Helen and her Trojan Prince Paris.

Tour Suitability
Ramadan
Ramadan is the holiest month in Islam, observed by fasting from sunrise to sunset. In Egypt and Turkey, many businesses, restaurants, and attractions may have reduced hours, especially during the day. Some cafés and tourist-focused restaurants remain open, but alcohol sales may be restricted.
As sunset approaches, the country slows down in anticipation of iftar, the evening meal that breaks the fast. Many locals gather with family, and streets may be quieter at this time. However, after iftar, cities come alive with social gatherings, markets, and late-night cafés.
Travellers should dress modestly, be mindful when eating or drinking in public, and expect some adjustments to normal schedules. While some services may be limited, experiencing Morocco during Ramadan offers insight into its culture, traditions, and warm hospitality.
Accommodation
The accommodation listed is subject to change. Any changes will be of an equal or higher standard. Please refer to your final documentation which will be provided approximately 14-30 days before departure for your confirmed hotel list.
Visa and Passport
You will need a visa to visit Jordan. If you are visiting for tourism, you can get a single-entry visa valid for one month on arrival. For some passport holders, this will be included in the package. Other restricted nationalities cannot obtain an entry visa upon arrival and cannot be added to the manifest for the visa waiver; they need to have their visas prior to arrival to Jordan.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended on all our tours. We require that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. It is also important to consider forced pre-tour cancellations and how your chosen insurance policy may cover such circumstances, so please keep this in mind when choosing your provider.
We strongly recommend all travellers have a policy that also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage or personal effects. For international tours, you will be asked by your tour leader for your travel insurance details if they were not already added to your Traveller Hub account pre-departure.
If you have credit card insurance your Inspiring Vacations tour leader or local guide may require details of the participating insurer/underwriter, the level of coverage, policy number, and emergency contact number rather than the bank's name and your credit card details. Please contact your bank for these details before arriving in-country.

All travellers need to be in good physical health to participate fully on this tour. Our group tours are designed to immerse you in incredible sights and activities, often involving walking tours and self-exploration. To ensure you can fully embrace every moment, we recommend a moderate level of fitness for all of our tours.
When selecting your tour please make sure you have read through the itinerary carefully and assess your ability to manage and enjoy our style of travel. Please note that in the assessment of our Inspiring Vacations Tour Leader or local representative a traveller is unable to complete the itinerary without undue risk to themselves and/or the rest of the group, we reserve the right to exclude them from all or part of a tour without refund.
You should consult your doctor for up-to-date medical travel information or for any necessary vaccinations before departure. We recommend that you carry a first aid kit as well as any personal medical requirements in their original packaging as they may not easily be obtained while travelling. If you are carrying medication, ensure you check your government's foreign travel advice for any local restrictions or requirements. For the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others, if you are unwell before travelling, please stay at home and contact us to make alternative arrangements and we would be more than happy to assist you.

We want to ensure everyone has a fantastic and inclusive experience on our tours. If you require the use of a mobility aid, such as a cane, walker, or wheelchair, please disclose this information at the time of booking.
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for the entire group, our tours are designed with a specific itinerary in mind. This may involve moderate walking, uneven terrain, or stairs. While some itinerary adjustments may not be possible, we'll do our best to find alternative solutions within the planned activities whenever possible.
Open communication helps us ensure your tour is a perfect fit and it allows your local guide or tour leader to assist you where possible.
Information for CPAP Users
If you use a CPAP machine, please let us know at the time of booking. Some portions of our itinerary, like overnight cruises or camping tours, may have limited access to power outlets. In such cases, we recommend travelling with portable battery packs.
Certain activities, like overnight journeys on board smaller vessels, may not be suitable for CPAP use due to space limitations or noise concerns. We can discuss these potential limitations upfront and help you make informed decisions about your tour.
Please ensure that you check the voltage used throughout the countries you are travelling to and if it will be compatible with your machines. For example, Japan runs on 100 volts vs Australia at 220-240 volts, meaning a voltage converter might be required.

Optional Tours
To secure your spot and enjoy the best rates, pre-booking these tours in advance is highly recommended. While some tours require a minimum number of participants to operate, you'll be fully refunded if the tour is cancelled at your destination for this reason. Our optional tours are typically led by your tour leader or local guide. Please note that transportation to and from the optional tours may not be included, but your tour leader will be happy to assist you with navigating public transportation options like trains or taxis to reach the starting point.
Travelling in a group
Travelling in a group means you will experience both the pleasures and perhaps at times, some of the frustrations of travelling with people you don’t know. The good news is you all have at least one thing in common: a love of travel and exploration. Your fellow travellers will probably come from different parts of the world, and fall into different age groups. We ask you to be understanding of the various needs and preferences of your group—patience with your fellow travellers is sometimes required for the overall benefit of the group.
We kindly ask that you are requested to be at a place at a certain time that you respect this request from your tour leader or local guide. Due to privacy reasons, we are unable to provide you with contact details and any personal information about your fellow travellers booked on your tour before departure.
Community Guidelines
Inspiring Vacations does not tolerate any kind of violence, harassment (whether physical, verbal or sexual), or disrespect toward fellow travellers, our teams (Inspiring Vacations Tour Leaders and local expert guides) or local communities.
Any behaviour that prevents your Inspiring Vacations Tour Leader from continuing the itinerary as planned, breaks local laws or opposes any of these guidelines, may result in Inspiring Vacations removing you from the tour.
If something concerns you during your travels, please speak to your Inspiring Vacations Tour Leader immediately. Alternatively, when you are on-tour and require immediate support you can contact our Customer Support team and select the “On-Tour” option when listening to the options.
Inspiring Vacations Tour Leader vs. Local Guide
While both tour leaders and local guides enrich your travel experience, their roles differ. Tour leaders, who often accompany you for the entire tour, handle logistics, ensure smooth sailing of the itinerary, and act as your point of contact for any concerns. They might provide general information about destinations, but in-depth historical or cultural knowledge often comes from local guides. Local guides, frequently native to the area, lead tours at specific sites or attractions, offering a deeper understanding of the local history, art, or way of life.
Coach Transportation
The size of your coach will comfortably accommodate your group. There's usually room for some extra seats, ensuring a relaxing journey. Your luggage will be safely stored either underneath the coach or in a dedicated trailer.
While the exact coach style may vary depending on the departure, all our coaches offer comfortable seating. Keep in mind that Wi-Fi and charging outlets might not always be available. To stay connected and avoid dead batteries, we recommend fully charging your devices beforehand or bringing a portable charger.
For longer journeys, we'll make sure to include ample restroom breaks along the way, so you can freshen up and recharge at your convenience, as facilities are not on-board the coach.
Itinerary Changes
Sometimes, unexpected things can happen, like unpredictable weather or higher-than-usual crowds at attractions. In these situations, your tour leader might need to adjust the itinerary slightly to improve your overall experience.
This flexibility ensures you get the most out of your tour! Your tour leader will always keep you informed of any changes and explain the reasoning behind them. Remember, when travelling with a group, sometimes going with the flow can lead to even more amazing experiences.
Staying Connected
If you want to stay connected and access reliable internet while on tour, there are a few options available. It is possible to purchase a virtual sim and we recommend contacting your mobile phone provider for assistance in doing so. You can add a roaming data plan to your existing phone contract is another option. You will need to arrange this before departure. Purchasing a local SIM at the airport is the final option. For a prepaid fee, you can get data by simply swapping your current SIM with your new SIM and depending on which package you purchase, you’ll be able to text and make phone calls, just as you would at home.
We also recommend downloading WhatsApp and using this to communicate with other group members while on tour, and of course, after the tour if you’d like to stay in touch. Our tour leaders may also use this as a means of communicating essential tour information with you, as well as if you choose to add-on transfers to your booking, as your driver may use this to confirm arrangements with you.
Getting Around
While touring in Egypt, Jordan and Turkey, you will be travelling by private coach and flights. For some coach journeys, where applicable there will be comfort stops along the way where you can freshen up, stretch your legs, use the bathroom and often, purchase refreshments. Generally, lunch stops will be taken at rest stops as they can easily accommodate groups.
Hotel Ratings
Star ratings can differ between countries, reflecting diverse standards and amenities. To give you the most accurate picture possible, we don't just rely on a single source for hotel ratings. We go beyond by researching various trusted travel websites like Tripadvisor and Booking.com. This allows us to analyse a wider range of genuine customer reviews and experiences, giving you a well-rounded understanding of the hotel's typical star rating.
This means you can book with confidence, knowing the hotel has a strong track record of satisfied guests.
Accommodation Details

Each accommodation has been carefully chosen based on a stringent set of criteria, ensuring the high standards of comfort and convenience. Packing Essentials
What you need to pack for your tour will vary according to the tour style you have chosen, the countries you are visiting and when you are travelling. We recommend you pack as lightly as possible, ensuring that you can carry and lift your luggage, and walk with it for short distances or up or down a flight of stairs.
A lockable suitcase with wheels is ideal for this tour. Many tours will include internal flights which often have luggage weight restrictions, and it is recommended that you keep your main luggage weight around 15kg and no more than 20kg. A small or medium-sized backpack (45-50 litres) is another good option. You'll also need a day pack/bag to carry water, a camera, a jacket, and your essentials while touring during the day.
Clothing: Pack a mix of lightweight and warm layers. Long sleeves and pants are beneficial for mosquito protection. Choose clothes that are easy to wash and dry.
Footwear: Closed-in shoes are recommended to protect your feet from injuries and potential bites or stings, whether you're walking in urban areas or through nature.
Sun Protection: Bring a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses to shield yourself from the sun.
Warm Gear: Mountains and hill regions can get cold at night. A light, warm waterproof jacket is advisable.
Medical Kit: It's good to carry personal items like mild painkillers, electrolytes, Band-Aids, and insect repellent. Ensure you are travelling with any prescription medication that you may need.
Water Bottle: A capacity of at least 1.5 litres is recommended to reduce the environmental impact of bottled water.
Camera/Phone: Don’t forget to bring something to capture memories.
Comfort Items: Earplugs can help with noisy environments, a good book or journal for downtime, and a music player for entertainment.
Climate
Egypt and Jordan generally enjoy a hot, dry climate with abundant sunshine year-round. Summers (May to September) can be extremely hot, especially in southern regions like Luxor and Aswan, where temperatures often exceed 40°C (104°F). Winters (November to February) are mild and pleasant, with daytime temperatures ranging from 18–25°C (64–77°F), making it the most popular time to visit. Rainfall is minimal and mostly occurs along the Mediterranean coast, while desert areas remain arid. Egypt and Jordan’s consistently sunny weather makes it ideal for sightseeing and outdoor exploration.
Turkey’s climate is as diverse as its landscapes, offering something for every traveller. Coastal areas along the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas enjoy a Mediterranean climate with hot, sunny summers and mild, rainy winters, making them ideal for beach vacations. The Black Sea region is cooler and wetter, with lush greenery year-round. Inland areas, including central Anatolia, experience a continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold, snowy winters, while the eastern regions are known for harsh winters and heavy snowfall. The southeastern part of the country has a semi-arid climate, featuring hot summers and mild winters. No matter when or where you visit, Turkey’s varied weather ensures a unique experience.
Currency and ATMs
The official currency in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound (EGP), often abbreviated as LE. Banknotes come in various denominations, and coins are also used for smaller amounts. Credit and debit cards are accepted in most hotels, larger shops, and restaurants in major cities, but cash is preferred in markets, small businesses, and rural areas. ATMs are widely available in cities and tourist areas, offering convenient access to local currency. It’s a good idea to carry small bills for tips and everyday purchases.
Currency used in Jordan is the Jordanian Dinar (JOD). It is a stable and widely accepted currency across the country. While major hotels, restaurants, and shops in cities accept credit cards, cash is preferred in smaller towns, markets, and for tipping. ATMs are widely available.
The currency used in Turkey is the Turkish Lira (TRY). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in cities, tourist areas, and larger hotels. For cash withdrawals, ATMs are easily accessible throughout the country and often accept foreign cards. Many ATMs offer the option to withdraw in Turkish Lira, Euros, or U.S. Dollars, making them convenient for international travellers. It’s advisable to carry some cash, especially in rural areas or small towns where card payments may not always be possible.
Be aware that your home bank and the ATM operator may charge you fees for international withdrawals. Check with your bank before your tour to understand their foreign transaction fees.
Food and Allergies
Egyptian, Jordanian and Turkish cuisine is a delicious fusion of flavors, shaped by its diverse history and geography. Expect rich, aromatic dishes featuring fresh vegetables, herbs, and spices. Staples like kebabs, mezes (small appetizers), and pide (Turkish flatbread) are widely enjoyed, along with hearty stews and flavorful soups. Desserts such as baklava and Turkish delight are must-try treats, often paired with a strong cup of Turkish coffee or tea.
Vegetarian travelers will find plenty of options, as many traditional dishes like lentil soup, stuffed grape leaves, and vegetable-based mezes are naturally plant-based. However, those with specific dietary restrictions should double-check dishes, as yogurt and cheese are commonly used ingredients. Gluten-free travelers should be cautious with items like bread and bulgur-based dishes, and always confirm ingredients when dining.
While travelling with Inspiring Vacations you'll enjoy iconic sightseeing, as well as experience the vast array of local cuisines. While many meals will be eaten together with your group, not all meals are included in your tour which gives you maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat. If you have dietary requirements or food allergies, let our Customer Support Team know before departure. Your Tour Guide or Local Guide will assist in recommending suitable dishes or restaurants, though it’s ultimately your responsibility to ensure your meals meet your needs.
For street food, exercise caution by choosing vendors with good hygiene and opting for freshly prepared items. From savory kebabs to sweet desserts, Turkey’s culinary scene offers an unforgettable journey for food lovers.
Local Customs
It's always a good idea to learn something about local customs before you travel.
Before traveling to Egypt, it's important to be aware of local customs to show respect and enjoy a smoother experience. Modest dress is appreciated, especially at religious sites and in rural areas, where covering shoulders and knees is advised. Greetings are valued, and a polite “Salam Alaikum” is a common way to say hello. Tipping, known as baksheesh, is customary for many services, so carrying small bills is helpful. During Ramadan, avoid eating, drinking, or smoking in public during daylight hours. Always ask permission before taking photos of people, and use your right hand for eating or exchanging items, as it is considered more respectful. These small gestures go a long way in showing cultural sensitivity.
Turkish culture is known for its warm hospitality and strong sense of community, and understanding a few basics will help you feel at ease. Greeting with a smile or a polite "Merhaba" (hello) is always appreciated, and handshakes are common in formal settings. When visiting mosques or religious sites, it’s important to dress modestly—covering your shoulders and knees—and to remove your shoes before entering. Respecting local traditions, such as accepting tea when offered, is a wonderful way to connect with Turkish culture.
Take time to enjoy both countries' rich customs, from exploring bustling bazaars to relaxing in a café with a glass of tea. These simple gestures will help you make the most of your visit while embracing the local way of life.
Dress Code
When visiting Egypt, Jordan & Turkey, dressing modestly and respectfully is important, especially in religious and rural areas. In cities and tourist hubs, casual attire is widely acceptable, but lightweight, breathable clothing is recommended for comfort in the warmer months. If you plan to visit mosques or religious sites, ensure your shoulders and knees are covered, and women may be required to cover their hair with a scarf. Beachwear is appropriate for coastal areas and resorts but should be avoided in towns or urban areas away from the beach.
Responsible Dining
Responsible dining in Egypt and Jordan involves making thoughtful choices that respect local culture, support the community, and prioritize health and sustainability. Eating at locally owned restaurants and street food stalls helps support small businesses and gives you a more authentic taste of Egyptian cuisine. Be mindful of food hygiene—choose busy, well-reviewed places where food is freshly prepared. Try to avoid wasting food, as hospitality is generous and portions can be large. Respect dietary norms, especially during Ramadan or in conservative areas, where public eating during fasting hours may be frowned upon.
When dining in Turkey, opt for dishes made with locally sourced ingredients to support sustainable practices and local farmers. Avoid consuming items that may involve unsustainable harvesting, such as certain seafood caught outside regulated seasons. Be respectful of Turkish food traditions, such as the importance of sharing meals and savoring local specialties like fresh produce and artisanal products.
Choosing family-run restaurants or street vendors with good hygiene practices helps support local communities. Responsible dining not only enriches your travel experience but also contributes to the well-being of Turkey's people and environment.
Tipping Your Leader, Local Guides or Driver
A friendly reminder that tipping is not included in your package. Tipping is a customary practice in Egypt, Jordan and Turkey and is often seen as a reward for good service. For many locals, tips provide an essential supplement to their income. If you're unsure about how much or who to tip, the following guidelines can help, based on local standards and feedback from previous travellers:
Tipping is a personal decision and should reflect the level of service you feel you have received. By following these recommendations, you can show your appreciation while contributing to the well-being of the local community.
Peak Travel Times
The peak times to travel to Egypt and Jordan are during the cooler months from October to April, with the absolute peak season being December through February. During this period, the weather is pleasant for sightseeing, especially in southern Egypt (Luxor, Aswan, and the desert regions), where summer temperatures can be extremely hot. Winter holidays, including Christmas and New Year, are especially popular, so expect larger crowds and higher prices. Spring and fall (October–November and March–April) are also great times to visit, offering warm weather and fewer tourists.
Peak travel times in Turkey are influenced by the country’s diverse climate and cultural events. The most popular time to visit Istanbul and the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, including destinations like Antalya, Bodrum, and Ephesus, is from April to October, when the weather is warm and ideal for exploring or relaxing by the sea.
The spring months of April and May, as well as autumn in September and October, are particularly favoured for sightseeing across Turkey due to mild temperatures and fewer crowds. Central Turkey, including Cappadocia, is also best visited during these seasons for pleasant weather and activities like hot air ballooning.
Cultural and religious events, such as Ramadan and the Kurban Bayramı (Eid al-Adha), can also impact travel plans, as many Turks travel to visit family, and some businesses may operate on limited schedules. Planning around these peak periods will ensure a comfortable and enriching visit to Turkey.
