Your flight today heads west over the stunning Queenstown Basin towards the frozen lakes and blue and green ice falls of the Southern Alps. There is time to take superb photos during a landing on one of the many glaciers, true rivers of ice, before flying back to Queenstown.

Today you will be collected from your hotel for a full day gourmet scenic wine tour. Venture into the heart of Central Otago to taste wines at 4 premium vineyards over 2 contrasting wine sub-regions. Take a guided tour through NZ’s largest underground wine cave, enjoy a cheese and wine tasting and indulge in a divine wine barrel-cooked lunch paired with wines. Take a stunning drive through Kawarau Gorge, learn about the early pioneering history, see the historic Kawarau Bridge and AJ Hackett Bungy, and return via Arrowtown with take home artisan chocolates before returning to your hotel.
This morning you will be collected from your hotel at approximately 8:15am (note: there is an afternoon departure departing at 1:30pm which may be booked based on availability) by fully equipped 4WD vehicles to venture down into Skippers Canyon along the famous Skippers Road. Hacked by hand and clinging to the sheer cliffside, this road is one of the most adventurous roads in the world. High above the Shotover River, enjoy the awe-inspiring scenery from high above the gorge. The Shotover River was known as the richest river in the world in the days of the gold miners. Gold is still being found today, therefore, you may get lucky and find a pot of gold.
Today, depart Queenstown by coach and travel to Milford Sound via Te Anau. Enjoy stops along the way. Take the time to enjoy the best of Milford Sound with our leisurely cruise. Exploring the length of the fiord you’ll learn about the history of the region and benefit from the knowledge of your specialist nature guide. Experience the cool spray of a waterfall as you move in close to sheer rock faces or watch out for dolphins, seals and, in season, the rare Fiordland crested penguins. Our experienced skippers tailor the cruise to take into consideration weather and recent wildlife sightings, ensuring you’ll see the best that Milford Sound has to offer on the day. Informative, participative and relaxed, this is the perfect way to experience what’s been called the “eighth wonder of the world”. Return to Queenstown by coach in the early evening.

Group Size
This package is made up of multiple components which will be provided by different operators throughout your trip. As such, group size will differ between operators and can be as intimate as 2 people or as lively as up to 60 people, depending on the activity and advertised inclusions. There may be unique cases where your selected travel date exceeds the expected group size for special events or types of activities, particularly during popular times of travel. For packages that include a train or cruise, you will be travelling with other passengers up to the capacity of this component.
When travelling with a group, no matter the size, we ask you to be understanding of the various needs and preferences of your group - patience with your fellow travellers is sometimes required for the benefit of everyone's travel experience.

Optional tours can be selected once you have finalised your tour purchase and paid your deposit. When completing your Passenger Booking Form, you will be asked if you would like to add Optional Tours, where any applicable cost will be added to your final balance. If you choose not to select them at this time, you can choose to add them later by logging in to your Account online or speaking with your Dedicated Support Agent for assistance.
