Meet Laura, Marketing Executive & Content Coordinator
Since joining Inspiring Vacations as a Customer Service Specialist in 2019, Laura has flourished and is now working in our marketing team. Laura shares her story so far with us.
Tell us about your journey so far at Inspiring Vacations?
I started my journey with Inspiring Vacations in September 2019 as a Customer Service Specialist. Since then, I have put my hand up for incredible opportunities to assist our marketing team with additional projects and extra responsibilities. I have recently moved into my current role as Marketing Executive & Content Coordinator.
Why did you join the Inspiring Vacations team?
Travel has played a significant part in my life and I’ve always wanted to share that love of adventure with others. Inspiring Vacations gave me the opportunity to start my career in the travel industry and their sincere focus on personal development has provided me with opportunities to develop a whole new skill set in another department! The unwavering trust that leadership has in the skills and ability of their staff is something that inspires me on a daily basis and makes me incredibly proud to work here.
What do you love about your job?
I love working with such a close-knit team of fun, passionate and innovative professionals! It is a pleasure to come into work knowing that whatever challenges may happen, I am surrounded by a supportive and motivated team. I also love that I can return to my roots by working with the customer service team for several hours each week as part of our company-wide commitment to customer service. It’s such a great way to stay connected with our customers and be a part of their stories!
What are your favourite company perks?
There are so many benefits but for me, personal development is a big priority and the leadership team at Inspiring Vacations go above and beyond - not only by providing these great learning opportunities, but also by genuinely taking an interest in our career development and encouraging my career growth. A year ago I wasn’t sure which pathway to take and now I have found a home in the marketing team! Am I allowed to mention our monthly Wine Club as a perk?!
How would you describe the company culture?
No matter what department you are in, we all come together to work on projects which creates a very close-knit, supportive and innovative work environment. Every team member also has an authentic desire to help and support our customers which really shows in the involvement of customer service. Plus we all find time to relax together and celebrate each other's wins - either at company-wide meetings, or at casual drinks and team lunches.
What would you say to people considering joining our team?
There is no better place to work! It is so exciting to be part of a rapidly growing company that acknowledges your work and gives you endless opportunities to develop - you just need to take them!
