Today your South Pacific escape begins as you depart on your international flight to Fiji.
Bula and welcome to Fiji. On arrival in Nadi, make your own way to your hotel and check in. The rest of your day is yours to relax after the flight or begin getting a feel for Fiji’s gentle rhythm. If you have the energy, you may wish to take a short stroll nearby, pick up a cool drink, or enjoy an easy dinner while the evening air carries that unmistakable tropical scent of frangipani and sea breeze. Tonight is at your leisure.
Special Information
Airport transfers are not included in your package. On arrival, please make your own way to your hotel.
Today is yours to enjoy Fiji at your own pace. You may choose to spend the day discovering Nadi’s easygoing town life, where local markets overflow with tropical fruit, spices and handmade crafts, and friendly conversation comes naturally. A visit to the nearby Garden of the Sleeping Giant offers a calm contrast, with shaded paths winding through orchids, palms and lush greenery.
If you prefer something even more relaxed, consider heading towards Denarau to enjoy coastal views and watch boats drift across the marina, or simply settle in with a cool drink and let the warmth of the day unfold slowly. Fiji invites an unhurried approach, where even a short walk or quiet moment feels rewarding. This evening is at your leisure, ideal for an early dinner and a gentle night’s rest ahead of your cruise adventure.
After breakfast and some free time this morning, make your own way to Lautoka, where your cruise journey begins. Known as Fiji’s “Sugar City,” Lautoka has a distinctly local feel, with a working port, relaxed waterfront and glimpses of everyday life unfolding along the shoreline.
On arrival at the port, board Norwegian Spirit and begin your South Pacific cruise. Once on board, take time to settle into your stateroom and familiarise yourself with the ship. You may wish to explore the open decks, enjoy views back towards the Fijian coastline, or simply relax as the pace of travel shifts from land to sea.
As the ship prepares to depart, the landscape slowly gives way to open water, marking the start of a journey shaped by island cultures, lagoon scenery and unhurried days at sea. This evening, enjoy dinner on board and the first night of your cruise as Norwegian Spirit sets course for the islands ahead.
Today your ship calls at Dravuni Island, a small and undeveloped island offering a tranquil introduction to Fiji’s outer islands. With no large towns or built infrastructure, the experience here is shaped by natural scenery, quiet beaches and clear surrounding waters.
Guests may choose to spend time ashore enjoying the soft sand and shallow shoreline, or take advantage of the island’s calm lagoon conditions for swimming or snorkelling. The reef lies close to shore, making it easy to observe colourful marine life in clear, warm water. For those who prefer to remain on land, shaded areas beneath palm trees provide a peaceful setting to relax and take in the coastal views.
With no set schedule, the day unfolds at an easy pace, allowing you to enjoy the simplicity of the island environment before returning to the ship.
This morning, arrive in Suva, the capital of Fiji and the largest city in the South Pacific island nations. Set along a natural harbour, Suva offers a different perspective on Fiji, blending colonial-era buildings, government precincts and lively street scenes with a backdrop of rainforest-covered hills.
You may choose to explore the city itself, where markets, small shops and cafés provide insight into daily life and local culture. Suva is also a gateway to Fiji’s interior landscapes, and those wishing to venture beyond the city can discover cooler rainforest environments, waterfalls and natural surrounds just a short distance away.
Whether you spend the day exploring on foot or simply soaking up the atmosphere near the waterfront, Suva provides a contrast to the smaller island experiences earlier in the cruise.
Today is spent at sea as you continue across the South Pacific. With no port calls scheduled, the day offers a welcome opportunity to slow the pace and enjoy life on board.
You may wish to begin the morning with a relaxed breakfast before heading out onto the deck to take in uninterrupted ocean views. The gentle rhythm of the ship and the open horizon create an ideal setting for reading, quiet conversation, or simply watching the sea drift by. Throughout the day, a range of onboard activities and entertainment are available should you wish to take part, or you can choose to spend time in one of the ship’s lounges or public spaces.
With no set plans, the day is yours to enjoy as you please.
Today the ship calls at Apia, the capital of Samoa and the cultural heart of the islands. Set along a sheltered harbour and framed by lush volcanic hills, Apia offers a welcoming introduction to Samoan life, where tradition and modern influences exist side by side.
You may choose to explore the town and its surrounds, where local markets, small shops and waterfront areas provide insight into daily life. Those interested in Samoa’s natural environment may wish to venture beyond the town to experience the island’s distinctive landscapes, including volcanic formations and tropical inland scenery. Cultural experiences are also a highlight here, with opportunities to learn about Samoan customs, storytelling and village traditions.
Today is spent at sea as your ship continues eastward across the Pacific and crosses the International Date Line. While this change in date happens quietly and without ceremony, it marks a notable moment in the journey, as you move from one side of the world to the other while surrounded by open ocean.
With a full day on board, you are free to enjoy the ship at your own pace. You may wish to start the morning with breakfast overlooking the sea, followed by a stroll on deck as the horizon stretches endlessly in every direction. The day lends itself well to relaxed pursuits, whether that means attending an onboard activity, enjoying a quiet lounge, or simply watching the light shift across the water.
Today we arrive at Aitutaki, widely regarded as one of the Cook Islands’ most scenic destinations. The island is surrounded by a broad lagoon known for its clear water and shifting shades of blue, with low-lying islets dotted along the reef.
The day is ideal for enjoying the natural setting at a relaxed pace. You may choose to spend time along the shoreline, where the shallow lagoon invites easy swimming, or simply enjoy the views across the water. For those interested in exploring further, the island’s quiet roads and small settlements offer a glimpse into local life, shaped by close community ties and a strong connection to the sea.
Aitutaki’s appeal lies in its simplicity and sense of calm, making it a highlight for many travellers.
Today the ship calls at Rarotonga, the largest and most populous of the Cook Islands. Encircled by a lagoon and coral reef, the island offers a blend of coastal scenery, village life and a mountainous interior that rises sharply from the shoreline.
You may choose to explore the island at a leisurely pace, perhaps following the coastal road that circles Rarotonga and reveals a series of beaches, small settlements and lagoon views along the way. The lagoon itself is calm and inviting, ideal for swimming or simply enjoying the clarity of the water from the shore. Inland, the island’s forested slopes provide a striking contrast to the coastline, hinting at walking tracks and hidden valleys.
Rarotonga’s atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with a strong sense of community evident throughout the island.
Today is spent at sea as we continue our voyage across the South Pacific. With no scheduled port call, the day offers a welcome pause between island destinations and the opportunity to enjoy the ship at a relaxed pace.
You may wish to begin the morning with breakfast overlooking the open ocean, followed by time on deck as the ship moves steadily through calm waters. The uninterrupted horizon and gentle movement of the ship create an ideal setting for reading, conversation, or simply enjoying the quiet rhythm of the journey. Throughout the day, onboard activities and entertainment are available should you wish to take part, though there is no obligation to follow a schedule.
Today arrive at Bora Bora, one of the most recognisable islands in French Polynesia. The island is defined by its dramatic volcanic peaks rising sharply from a broad, sheltered lagoon, where the water shifts through vivid shades of turquoise and blue.
The day is well suited to enjoying Bora Bora’s natural scenery at a relaxed pace. You may choose to spend time near the lagoon, where clear, calm waters offer ideal conditions for swimming and marine viewing, or explore viewpoints that reveal the island’s striking contrasts between mountain, reef and sea. The lagoon itself is often described as a natural aquarium, with coral formations and tropical fish visible beneath the surface.
Whether you spend the day on the water or simply taking in the scenery, Bora Bora leaves a strong impression through its scale and colour.
This morning we call at Raiatea, an island often regarded as the cultural and spiritual centre of French Polynesia. Lush and mountainous, Raiatea offers a quieter, more traditional atmosphere than some of its neighbouring islands, with landscapes shaped by dense vegetation and sheltered bays.
One of the island’s most significant sites is Taputapuatea Marae, a UNESCO-listed complex that holds deep cultural importance across Polynesia. Visiting this area provides insight into the region’s shared heritage and the role Raiatea played as a gathering place for navigation, ceremony and exchange. Beyond its cultural significance, the island also offers scenic inland areas and coastal views that reflect a slower, more grounded pace of life.
You may choose to explore at leisure, enjoying the island’s natural surroundings and sense of calm.
Arrive at Moorea today, an island known for its dramatic mountain scenery and lush landscapes. Jagged peaks rise sharply from the coastline, framing deep bays and creating a striking contrast with the calm lagoon waters that surround the island.
The day offers a variety of ways to explore at an unhurried pace. You may choose to enjoy scenic drives that reveal panoramic viewpoints across the island’s bays and valleys, or spend time closer to the water, where the lagoon provides clear conditions for swimming and relaxation. Inland, Moorea’s green interior adds depth to the scenery, with pineapple fields and forested slopes visible as you move through the island.
Moorea’s appeal lies in its balance of natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere, making it a fitting final island call before reaching Tahiti.
This morning your ship arrives in Papeete, the capital of Tahiti and the final port of your cruise journey. After breakfast on board, it is time to disembark and transition from sea to land as your post-cruise stay begins.
Papeete is a lively waterfront town, where daily life unfolds between the harbour and the green volcanic interior of the island. After making your own way to your hotel and checking in, the remainder of the day is at leisure. You may wish to take a gentle walk along the waterfront, explore the town’s shops and cafés, or simply relax and enjoy the slower pace after your time at sea.
Tahiti offers a different rhythm to the outer islands, blending natural scenery with local culture and modern island life. This evening is free, providing the opportunity to enjoy dinner at your own pace and take in the atmosphere of your first night on land in French Polynesia.
Today is yours to enjoy Tahiti at your own pace. With a full day on land, you may choose to explore the island’s varied landscapes or simply relax and take in the atmosphere of Papeete.
Those interested in natural scenery may wish to venture beyond the town to discover Tahiti’s lush interior, where valleys, waterfalls and forested slopes offer a cooler, greener contrast to the coastline. Alternatively, you may prefer to remain closer to the waterfront, browsing local shops, visiting markets, or enjoying a leisurely walk along the harbour as ferries and fishing boats move through the bay.
Tahiti blends traditional Polynesian culture with modern island life, creating a setting that feels both familiar and distinct. The day is unstructured, allowing you to tailor your time according to your interests and energy. This evening is at leisure, offering a relaxed opportunity to enjoy your final night in French Polynesia.
Your journey comes to an end today as you depart Tahiti for your return flight to Home. After breakfast, make your own way to the airport at the appropriate time for your onward travel.
Welcome home, as you cross back over the International Dateline you will arrive home a day later than you left.

Visas & Entry Requirements
Many countries require a visa and obtaining the correct visa for your tour and any countries you may transit through is your responsibility. You’ll need a valid passport to travel internationally and most countries require your passport to have a minimum of 6 months validity, so remember to check the expiry date.
We need your passport information to get everything ready for your tour so the information on your booking must match your passport exactly. Please take care to provide the correct details. We recommend carrying a copy of the photo page of your passport while travelling and leaving a copy at home with family or friends.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended on all our tours. We require that at a minimum you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. It is also important to consider forced pre-tour cancellations and how your chosen insurance policy may cover such circumstances, so please keep this in mind when choosing your provider.
We strongly recommend all travellers have a policy that also covers personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage or personal effects. For international tours, you will be asked by your tour leader for your travel insurance details if they were not already added to your Traveller Hub account pre-departure.
If you have credit card insurance your Inspiring Vacations tour leader or local guide may require details of the participating insurer/underwriter, the level of coverage, policy number, and emergency contact number rather than the bank's name and your credit card details. Please contact your bank for these details before arriving in-country.
Before you depart, you will be asked to submit your Travel Insurance details through the booking holder's Traveller Hub account through the Inspiring Vacations website. This is to ensure that we have this information readily available should we ever need it.
