As a general requirement across all of our trips, you may be required to walk up and down stairs, get on and off transportation, handle your own luggage, and participate in all scheduled sightseeing that may be conducted on uneven ground and terrain. Welcome to Vancouver!
On arrival, make your way to your centrally located hotel. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to explore the heart of this coastal city. From your hotel, it's only a short walk to the harbour, where you can watch sea-planes arrive from Victoria and Whistler.
Continue walking east towards Gastown, Vancouver's oldest neighbourhood and home to the famous steam clock. This is also a great place to get dinner, and there are plenty of reputable restaurants to choose from here.
Upon arrival at the airport you will be greeted l by a local representative of Northern Tales Travel Services who will welcome you to the Yukon and transfer you to your hotel. Once you have checked in you will receive an orientation meeting describing what to expect during your stay.
The rest of the day is yours until your first evening viewing of the Aurora Borealis. The Aurora Borealis, commonly known as the Northern Lights, is a spectacle of magnetic and electrical charges in the air, colouring the sky a multitude of majestic hues.
Tonight is your first chance to view this spectacular show. Departing the hotel at 22:00 in groups, you will be taken to a prime viewing area and treated to snacks and hot drinks during your viewing. Contemplate the sublime beauty of this fascinating array of blues, reds, greens and violets in this idyllic setting as you relax in a cozy heated cabin or walled tent. Return to the hotel at approximately 02:30. You will have another opportunity for viewing tomorrow evening.
This morning you are treated to a tour of the scenic city of Whitehorse, a former gold rush settlement set against a stunning backdrop of mountains. Discover the highlights of this town such as Main Street, the Train Depot of White Pass, Log Skyscraper, Log Church, the Sternwheeler SS Klondike, fish ladders and Schwatka Lake. Tonight, embark on another Northern Lights viewing excursion with your local guide.
Today join your included half-day dogsledding adventure. Experience some of the most beautiful wilderness scenery on the frozen Takhini River, a historic stretch of the Yukon Quest trail. Learn the basics of mushing and drive your own sled, or, sit back and enjoy the ride while the guide shares insights on mushing and Yukon history. Return transfers between Whitehorse hotel and dogsledding site, guide, winter gear (parka, snow pants, warm boots, mittens), hot beverages and snacks after the tour are included.
Enjoy another opportunity to see the Aurora Borealis overhead tonight, as you set out with your guide to follow the lights.
Today you are free to relax in the warm comfort of the hotel, or book an optional activity such as ice fishing, flightseeing or snowshoeing. While waiting for the lights to appear, guests are invited to sit at a roaring bonfire, roast marshmallows, have tea and hot chocolate, chat with local guides, try out snow shoeing, tobogganing on a small hill. Head out tonight to get another glimpse of the Northern Lights.
Today your northern experience comes an end as you check out of your hotel and are transferred to the Whitehorse Airport for your flight back to Vancouver.
On arrival in Vancouver, make your way downtown to your hotel overlooking the Coast Mountains. Enjoy your final evening at leisure in the cosmopolitan hub of Vancouver.

If you change your mind within 7 days of making your booking online, you can request a refund of your initial deposit payment as part of our cooling off period.

We have arranged transportation in most cases and day tours for you to see the destination. Enjoy the time and flexibility to linger longer or pick up the pace and see as much as possible.
