What is your best Cambodia travel tip?

Most prices are in US dollars as it’s used even more than the local riel, so have some with you wherever you go.

What’s your one must-see sight or must-do experience?
Angkor Wat is naturally one of the main reasons for visiting Siem Reap. But make sure you also see some of the surrounding temples and sights including Ta Prohm, Prom Bakheng, Banteay Kdei, and Angkor Thom. A 3-day ticket will give you unlimited visits to all these including Angkor Wat.

The so-called 'Tomb Raider Temple', Ta Prohm was built in 1186

Best way to spend a free afternoon in Siem Reap?
The afternoons are hot in Cambodia, so try doing most of your sightseeing in the morning or evening. Keep an afternoon free to drop in for a cocktail or a spot of afternoon tea at the famous Raffles Hotel d'Angkor, and step back in time to the golden age of travel.

What do you wish you’d known before your first visit?
Angkor Wat closes at 5pm, so if you plan to watch the sunset from outside the old temple walls, give yourself enough time if you want to explore the temple itself beforehand.

Get there: Doug enjoyed some popular sights found on our 17 Day 5 Star Memoirs Of Sapa, Vietnam And Cambodia Premium Small Group Tour that includes a full day visiting the Angkor Wat temples and the jungle-covered temple of Ta Prohm.
